History

Mining Company “Sat Komir'" LLP was created in November 2009. Enterprise main type is development of coal deposits.
Company is developing Kumyskudukskiy block of the Verkhnesokurskoye deposit of brown coal in Karaganda Oblast of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Block balance reserves amount 356 mln tonnes of coal, 124.3 mln tonnes of which are reported by categories A, B and C1. According to geology, continuity of layer thickness and quality of coal Kumyskudukskiy block is related to 1 group, according to deposit reserves classification.

The coal of the deposit is referred to the brown coals ranked B3 with rather low ash content and insignificant volume of impurities and may be used as power-plant fuel, domestic fuel and also for cocking in type of thinning agent to fat coal. The average ash content of geological raw coal varies from 22.8% to 27%, operational moisture content-69% , serum content-0.83% , phosphor-0.075% lower heating value-5 250–5 700 kcal/kg , being on average- 5 650 kcal/kg.

The mine is developed in accordance with the opencast method by horizontal benches with rock mass transportation by trucks. The design project for the mine development is prepared by Karaganda Giproshaht & K LLP. To the end of 2010 it is planned to reach production volumes in amount of 1.0 mln tonnes of coal, 2011 and reach the project capacity 1.5 mln tonnes per year.

Along with mining works additional exploration of two reserve blocks is provided, which are of big potential for recourse base increase.

Currently, the Company is selling high quality coal ranked 2B, 2BV, 3B, 3БV. The price of production is 2600 KZT with self delivery and 3600 KZT from wagon. We have developed flexible system of discounts depending on volume.
